ADVANCED ANTENNA SYSTEMS & RF SOLUTIONS

Airborne SATCOM antenna systems face a unique set of constraints that ground-based installations never encounter: aerodynamic drag, structural integration limits, rapid platform attitude changes, and strict EMI/EMC requirements.
Every antenna mounted on an aircraft creates drag. For high-speed platforms, conformal antenna designs that follow the fuselage contour are preferred. These require phased array or switched beam technology rather than conventional reflectors.
Antennas must survive the full flight envelope including:
Radomes protect the antenna from the airstream while minimizing signal attenuation. For Ku-band (12-18 GHz), A-sandwich or C-sandwich radome constructions are standard, achieving insertion loss below 0.5 dB at nadir.
Different aircraft platforms require different SATCOM antenna approaches:
Airborne SATCOM antenna design is fundamentally a systems engineering problem — balancing RF performance against physical integration constraints. Our aerospace antenna portfolio addresses each platform type with purpose-engineered solutions.
