Radomes

spiral radomes

A radome is a structural, weatherproof enclosure used to protect an antenna. The material used for the construction of  radomes allows a relatively less attenuated electromagnetic signal between the antenna and outside equipment. Therefore, these shells are RF transparent and are used to protect the surfaces of the antenna from the effects of adverse environmental conditions.

Radomes can be constructed in several shapes and types(monolithic, sandwich, etc.) depending upon the particular application using various construction materials (fiberglass, PTFE-coated fabric, etc.). When used on UAVs or other aircraft, in addition to such protection, the radome also streamlines the antenna system, thus reducing drag.

SAAS also design and manufacture customized radomes for unique customer specifications and the testing for CEMILAC approval will be done in NABL accredited labs in India.
