A new design approach for compact orthogonal MIMO antenna based on monopole antenna is designed. The 2X2 dual port blade MIMO operates at a frequency range of 2.2-2.5GHz supporting IEEE 802.11 b/g/n and 802.16 WiMAX standards. MIMO allows high data rates, range and reliability than SISO. Polarization diversity technique is used to achieve high gain and better isolation between the antenna elements. The MIMO system possesses good pattern and polarization diversity with good isolation without the use of any isolation enhancement techniques. The antenna offers reasonable multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) performances suitable for UAV platform.
